Welcome to Achievement Counseling

My name is Dr. Aaron Goldner, and I am a fully licensed clinical psychologist who works with children, teenagers, and adults who have Attention-Deficit Disorder(ADD) and Attention-Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), learning impairments (LD), academic and social problems, low self-esteem, depression and anxiety. My mission is to help my clients implement effective solutions that produce long-lasting success, and greater self-esteem.

Do you or your child have problems succeeding at school, work, or in social situations? If so, you may have noticed these common trouble areas:

  • Poor grades or work performance
  • Low self-esteem
  • Difficulty concentrating or focusing attention
  • Failure to finish tasks or chores on time (procrastination) or unfinished chores
  • Disorganization
  • Intense frustration
  • Emotional meltdowns
  • Perfectionism
  • Anxiety or fear
  • Doubt and uncertainty about your ability to succeed or live out your dreams
  • Having few or no friends, or limited social skills

When you notice these areas of difficulty, the natural thing to do is look for effective solutions and answers. The bottom line is, almost everyone wants to be successful in life, but the path to creating that success is not always clear. It can be frustrating when you want to make things better, but nothing you have tried works. I have helped many clients (and their parents) discover real solutions that DO work. Frustration and negativity have gone down while self-esteem, academic performance and hope for the future have gone up.

What makes me uniquely positioned to help is the combination of my professional interest in this area, training in psychology and education and a lifetime of personal experience with many of these issues. I understand them from the inside. I use my knowledge, experience and compassion to help others become more successful, happy and satisfied with their lives.

ADD and ADHD, Learning Disorders (LD) and other learning, social and mood issues are big problems but not insurmountable ones. They can be made manageable by handling them one step at a time. Click here to see my 3-step plan of action.
